As we head into summer we should expect the temperature to increase, which means we get a little more thirsty than normal. However some people simply just don’t drink enough water. Since our body is mostly made of water, we need to constantly stay hydrated. Staying hydrated has many benefits for instance it detoxifies our blood and organs, improves our digestions and kidney functions, increases our function, and nourishes the brain. It also helps with pain by lubricating our joints, it improves sleep and increases our energy and lastly it keeps the body’s temperature normal. The “right” amount of water intake one should be drinking is around 2 liters of water per day. However, there are alternatives to water intake for instance eating fruits and vegetables that have a lot of water intake like watermelon, celery, etc… Stop by our Cloverdale Chiropractic Clinic for additional information and techniques to stay healthy and hydrated this summer.
